Physiotherapy can be used to treat all  musculoskeletal conditions, for example necks, backs or peripheral joints conditions, soft-tissue problems, sports injuries and headaches. Physiotherapy is also very beneficial in the treatment of continence problems.

Treatments can be for recent or acute injuries - usually the earlier you see a physiotherapist the easier the injury is to treat.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can also be used to address chronic problems where pain and dysfunction may have been present for weeks or months. Treatment progress tends to be slower here but outcomes can still be very effective.

Recurrent problems such as back pain that crops up every few months or a sprained ankle that keeps ‘going over’ can be the most rewarding to treat as reduction or abolition of recurrent problems are particularly satisfying.

Physiotherapy uses a careful assessment and evaluation based on the latest scientific research to diagnose and treat an individual’s particular problem.

Treatment can include:

•Soft tissue massage, manipulation or assisted stretching

•Joint mobilizations

•Exercises to strengthen or stretch muscles to stabilise or mobilise joints and to improve function

•Taping to support joints or to reduce pain.
